Military members are taught from basic to never give up and constantly pursue their goal until it is accomplished. That drive and determination is translated into the most sought after skill that employers look for in their veteran employees.

Operation Enduring Freedom is an industry-wide recruitment campaign that offers returning veterans career paths in franchising, including increased employment opportunities and incentives for ownership of franchise businesses through the IFA’s longstanding VetFran program, originally established in 1991.

Franchisees with military experience enjoy operating their businesses and being a part of their franchise organizations, but rate their own performance as franchisees slightly lower than their non-vet counterparts. To compile the research for this report, Franchise Business Review surveyed nearly 2,000 military-trained franchisees, representing 178 brands and more than 60,000 franchise units.

Veteran-Owned Businesses may be able to get some help from Starbucks.
The Seattle-based coffee chain is collaborating with the Opportunity Finance Network, a nonprofit that works with nearly 200 community development financial institutions to provide loans to small businesses and community groups.
Starting Nov. 1, Starbucks will begin collecting donations of $5 or more from customers to stimulate U.S. job growth through its "Jobs for USA" program.
