All this talk about green energy, solar power, and clean energy, is enough to make all of us..well..green.
I'm starting to think President Obama's vision of the future is right on target;
"Each of us has a part to play in a new future that will benefit all of us. As we recover from this recession, the transition to clean energy has the potential to grow our economy and create millions of jobs -– but only if we accelerate that transition. Only if we seize the moment. And only if we rally together and act as one nation –- workers and entrepreneurs; scientists and citizens; the public and private sectors."
-President Obama, June 15, 2010
I know that in the short-term, businesses that are involved with renewable energy won't add tons of new jobs, but long-term, they could add thousands.
Green energy-green technology, could be America's ticket.
A major part of this "ticket" could involve our fantastic military personnel. That right; our Military Veterans.
The military is already involved in green energy, so veterans already have a leg up, knowledge-wise.
From BNET.com;
"Of late the Pentagon has been ramping up its already-significant cleantech efforts even more, investing heavily in biofuels and solar power and aggressively testing energy saving techniques."
Go to BNET.com to read about Six Renewable Technologies That The US Military is Buying.
Military Veterans have the disclipline and the drive to get things done. They could really propel our country into a greener future.
