How are you going to find that perfect franchise? You certainly have some great programs at your disposal. VetFran is one of them.

The question I am posing to you, veterans, is this;

How are you searching for a franchise? There are over 3,000 franchise opportunities to choose from. Are you really ready to look into what some of them are really about? Or are you once again going to just cruise all the franchise directories, and get a brochure or two, and STOP?

Searching For Your Franchise

Veterans that are searching for franchises to own have a lot of resources available. I dare to say, too many.

Going to any one of the online directories is a start, but you must dig deeper, if you are going to find an appropriate opportunity, that mitigates your risk as much as possible. {Yes. It is risky to get into any type of business.}

Michigan's Downsized Entering The Franchise World

Michigan has been hit especially hard with job losses, mostly form the automotive industry. For some of those workers, investing in a franchise is one way to go. These uncertain times demand that future franchise owners take the selection and research processes seriously.

According to The Detroit News:

"Nearly 75,000 jobs were cut from the state's automotive sector between 2003 and 2007, according to the Michigan Department of Labor. Though no group keeps figures on the number of career-changers who go into franchising, franchisors around Metro Detroit report that they've gotten hundreds of inquiries from displaced auto workers."

International Franchise Association Gives Thumbs Up To House Voting Yes On Bailout Bill

The IFA his applauding the YES vote on the bailout/rescue bill....

The IFA President, Matthew Shay, said:

"We are very pleased that lawmakers heard the pleas of millions of small business owners who are feeling the effects of the credit crunch on Main Street.,” said Matthew Shay, IFA President and CEO.  “It is very unfortunate that we find ourselves supporting such massive government intervention, but this package is the right solution for this extraordinary situation and we thank those who voted for it.”
