Alltop.com, the $10,000 start-up of Guy Kawasaki's, is known as "The Online Magazine Rack." This great new site features categories arranged alphabetically for you to check out. When you click a link, it will bring you to a page of blogs that feature the best of the best informatively, in the category you are interested in.....
As an example, if you go to http://franchising.alltop.com, you will see several franchise related blogs, including this one, for you to take a look at.
The blogs that are featured on Alltop.com are first vetted, by Guy's Chief Evangelist, NEENZ, and then added to the correct categories. The blogs are updates every 15 minutes! Talk about staying current!
I got involved with Alltop.com in a small way. I started to learn about Alltop.com via Twitter. Twitter is an instant messaging service that one can join for FREE. You can locate others that you know with Twitter's search feature, and you can start to get to know some new people by "Following" their messages. The best way to learn about Twitter is to join, and start following people. You can follow me by going to- http://twitter.com/franpro Even if you don't understant this new social media tool, I recommend joining up. {That is how I learned}
Back to my involvement with Guy, NEENZ, and Alltop.com............
I started corresponding with them, got to know them, and eventually discussed the possibility of adding the "Franchising" category to Alltop.com. They agreed, and I offered to set it up. Now it is live!
Getting involved in Alltop.com also gave me an idea. I didn't see any fans that were being pro-active enough to set up a blog about Alltop.com. So I did!
