Some of the statistics given were pretty amazing....Did you know that 1 out of every 7 small businesses in the US are Veteran owned? With over 25 million small businesses around, the revenue produced by Vet owned businesses could fuel a small country!
Franchising was discussed as being a great fit for veterans, with their history of procedural training, and work ethic. I was honored to be a member of the franchise panel moderated by a Dennis O'Toole, and Heidi McGlamery, a couple of very professional business attorneys. Theo Thomas of Coverall Cleaning, Matt Mullholland of Service Brands International, and Chuck Southern from the Center for Veteran's Enterprise were the other panelists.
Topics included in the all day event:
1. The new small business {Franchises too!} loan program for Veterans
2. Procurement
3. Marketing/Chad Heyman
4. Ohio Veteran's Business Council formation
5. Franchise opportunities for Veterans including the VetFran program
Yes, the franchise opportunities for war veterans are really endless...
