Attn: Louisiana Veterans!

If you are a resident of Louisiana, or are visiting around Veterans Day,there is a nice business event....

In honor of Veterans Day, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Louisiana State University Shreveport will offer "Veterans Mean Business" Breakfast Nov. 14 from 7:30 a.m.-9 a.m. at LSUS University Center Ballroom, One University Place, Shreveport, on the 2nd floor.

The breakfast will include speakers:

       

  • Cooper Cochran, LSBDC  director, discussing LSBDC services to veteran-owned businesses
  • Connie Shirley, small business specialist at BAFB, updating us on news from Barksdale including the Cyber Command project.
  • Kelly Ford, director of  Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center, discussing steps to contract with the government.
  • John Coutret, vice president of Ouachita Independent Bank, discussing the new Patriot Express Loan.
  • Veteran entrepreneurs, including Scotty Rogers, owner of 1-800-GOTJUNK, who will speak about the triumphs and trials of business ownership.

    The event is co-sponsored by Barksdale Air Force Base/ 2nd Contracting Squad and the Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center. To register, call the LSBDC office at (318) 797-5144 by Wednesday. Cost is $10.
